Written with a nod to traditional cowboy songs and the northern ballads of Robert W. Service.
Voiced by noted actor Kenneth Welsh (Twin Peaks, The Aviator, The Day After Tomorrow), and scored by alt-country heroes The Sadies, “Immortal Joe” puts a haunted twist on a tragically romantic Western.
The film had its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF 2015) followed by a screening at the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF 2015) and its European Premiere at the 66th Berlinale.
In 2016, ‘The Ballad Of Immortal Joe’ won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Animated Short.
